In the production and research and development process of 4 equipment, the two central enterprises adopted the innovative cooperation model of "scenario traction, joint research and development, risk sharing, and benefit sharing", which effectively solved the problem of "disconnection between research and application" and created a model of "domestic products and national use" of industrial mother machines.

For a long time, domestic high-end CNC machine tools have faced the systemic bottleneck of "large R&D investment, long cycle, and difficult verification" - the closed-door research and development of enterprises is disconnected from the actual market demand, and the product has fallen into a vicious circle of "users are unwilling to use, dare not use, and technology is difficult to iterate and mature" due to the lack of long-term verification under real working conditions, which seriously restricts the high-quality development of the industry.
In order to solve this problem, General Technology Group and Dongfang Electric Group signed the "Cooperation Agreement on Joint R&D and Industrialization of High-end Industrial Machine Tools in the Energy Sector" in June 2025 to explore the cooperation model of "scenario traction, joint research and development, risk sharing, and benefit sharing".
Wu Junyong, vice president of the Machine Tool Engineering Research Institute of General Technology Group, introduced that in the cooperation, Dongfang Electric Group took the initiative to open up equipment manufacturing application scenarios in key areas such as new power systems and intelligent manufacturing to General Technology Group, providing "targeted targets" for research and development. Relying on the layout of the machine tool industry, General Technology Group focuses on core technologies such as high-rigidity structure design and precision control system and complete machine manufacturing.
